Cytavision Network Architecture The network architecture can be seen below (Figure 4). The network consists of the Digital Head-end, the Backbone and the network at the customer premises. The Digital Head-end receives live programs from satellite and decodes them. It consists of:
The Backbone consists of IP or ATM nodes.
The Set-Top-Box (STB) is connected to the ADSL modem and to the TV. The STB decodes the MPEG signal that is received from the ATM packets to PAL TV format. It supports IP (i.e. IGMP, TCP, UDP, etc.) HTML and Java. After the necessary wiring is done by the customer (Installation Instructions), the following equipment will be installed at the customer:
